This first aid product can be used wet as a wrapper, dry as a wound dressing and even as a bandage and is used worldwide. Its application options as a moist warm, moist cold and dry dressing make it unique!
The reason is the special composition:
- Boric acid as a mild antiseptic
- Traganthus as a hydroscopic component
- Cotton absorbs, protects and warms
- A padding layer of cotton wool prevents additional injuries
- The film on the back protects against external contamination and traps moisture and heat
This wound dressing is not only suitable for horses, but can also be used for other farm animals and pets.
The following possible applications are available:
- As a warm, moist compress: bruises, bruises, infected wounds, mud, laminitis, burns, abscesses, hoof abscesses, nail steps, splinters, thrush
- As a moist cold compress: sprains, strains, shins, peeps, bumps, overlegs, laminitis
- As a dry wound dressing: Open, clean wounds
- As a pressure bandage: Mild sprains, after training, gallbladder, cross bile
Application instructions:
General preparations:
- Carefully clean the area of application from dirt
- Place the pad in a clean, flat container so that the waterproof plastic film faces upwards
Moist warm wrapping:
- Pour boiled water that has cooled to 38°C into the container around the pad.
- After the pad has absorbed enough water, remove it from the container and carefully squeeze out excess water.
- Place the pad on the affected area so that the waterproof plastic film faces outwards (away from the skin). Press the pad around the wound area.
- Fix the pad with a bandage, e.g. a cohesive bandage or an elastic adhesive bandage, so that it is completely covered.
Moist cold wrapping:
- The general preparations are the same as for warm moist compresses, except in this case completely cooled water should be used. Pour the water into the container around the pad.
- After the pad has absorbed enough water, gently squeeze to remove excess water.
- Place the pad on the affected area when it is cold so that the waterproof plastic film faces outwards (away from the skin).
- Fix with a bandage so that the support is completely covered.
Dry wound dressing:
